"The Sweater Set will pluck at your heartstrings," (The Washington Post) with "an intimidating number of instruments," (Washington Post) and soaring soprano-alto harmonies. Listeners are invited into Sara Curtin & Maureen Andary's joyful friendship as they sing about loves lost and found, accompanying themselves with elaborate arrangements of guitar, ukulele, accordion, banjo, and flute.

Brightest Young Things nominates them as “D.C.’s most endearing duo," claiming their attraction to them in live performance was “instant and inescapable."

Winners of multiple Washington Area Music Awards, The Sweater Set have toured throughout Ireland, the UK, & the Northeast & Southern United States, opened for Dar Williams, Aoife O'Donovan, and Michelle Shocked, served as Artists-in-Residence at the Strathmore Center for the Performing Arts, and partnered with the DC Commission on the Arts & Humanities as Artist Fellows in 2020.

Lifelong Washingtonians, the women of The Sweater Set grew up exposed to the incredible arts scene in the city.  Their upbringing included classical music education, choral arts training, acting workshops, and musical theatre training throughout the DC area.  The independence and ingenuity of their lyrics, entrepreneurial spirit, and dedication to craft development are all illustrative of the kind of world class city Washington, D.C. is, and the type of artist this supportive and resourceful community nurtures.
