It entertains, dazzles and defies classification while welcoming the spectator to join the band throughout the performance in momentary fits of claps, snaps and sing-alongs. If Django Reinhardt, the cast of Stomp and the Beatles all had a party at Tim Burton's house, Caravan of Thieves would be the band they hired.

WHAT'S A HOUSE CONCERT? It's exactly that -- a concert in a house rather than at a traditional venue. This is a great, intimate way to see professional-grade music -- often unamplified, right in our living room or on our back deck. There's no cover charge, but we'll be taking donations to help the musicians fill their tanks, ($10-$15 suggested) plus bring some cash for CDs and t-shirts and other merch.

It's not a rowdy house party. We'll have a mix and mingle and at the right time, we'll settle down with our beverages and our house will become a listening room for 45 minutes to an hour.

BYOB and snacks. We might make some chili. Invite friends! here's some info about the band:

DCAF is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization that offers grants to women in DC, Maryland, and Virginia who cannot afford the full cost of an abortion. DCAF affirms women as decision-makers. We hope to make “choice" a reality because we believe that a woman’s right to healthcare should not depend on her wallet.

Headlining band The Sweater Set is easily one of the best acts in DC, having been nominated for ELEVEN Washington Area Music Association awards, including a win for Best Contemporary Folk Duo of 2011. They've played the Kennedy Center and were Artists-in-Residence at the Strathmore in Bethesda. DCist called their instrumentation "masterful" and deemed their release 'Goldmine' to be "The best straightforward folk album to come out of DC in 2011."
